Nosara Gyrotonic Collective

The method

Gyrokinesis®

Gyrokinesis is a practice to restore your spine. It is a delicious study of opening the chest and maximizing the movement potential of the back. The whole body moves: the hips, the shoulders, all of the joints.

The movement is based on spirals, so you move with the body’s natural design, restoring functionality from stiffness and tightness. The sequences reach the small muscles we rarely activate and the fascia, so the whole body moves, from the toes to the fingertips.

It’s movement that everyone can (and should!) do. We often spend too much time in a curved position because of work, and Gyrokinesis is a tool to balance out that imbalance. A healthy spine moves in all directions!

Every session is adapted to the needs of all ages and abilities. It is practiced seated on a stool or on a mat, with no other equipment, and pairs well with Gyrotonic®, the branch practiced on specially designed equipment.

Offered as 1:1 private sessions, duets and group classes. See prices

Benefits

What the practice supports

  • Frees the spine and joints through flowing arching, curling, spiraling and circling movements
  • Moves the whole body, from the toes to the fingertips, building strength and mobility together
  • Activates the core and the small muscles we rarely use
  • Reaches the fascia, the connective tissue that links the whole body
  • Gently moves the organs and supports circulation and lymph flow
  • Breath-guided rhythm that gives the nervous system a reset and can help release muscle tension

Gyrokinesis is a movement practice and does not replace medical care.
