The method
Gyrotonic®
Gyrotonic is practiced on specially designed equipment with a pulley tower and adjustable resistance. The equipment supports the movement and lets you explore a wide range of motion, with the spine moving in every direction.
Movements are circular, spiraling and continuous, and they are coordinated with breath. Rather than isolating single muscles, the whole body works at once, from the toes to the fingertips. The spine leads and every joint takes part, building strength, flexibility and coordination together. The work reaches the small stabilizing muscles we rarely activate, and the fascia, the connective tissue that wraps the whole body.
Every session is adapted to the needs of all ages and abilities, from dancers and athletes to anyone who wants to move with more ease. It pairs well with Gyrokinesis®, the branch of the method practiced on a stool or mat.
Offered as 1:1 private sessions and duets. See prices
